DALLAS, May 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Texas residents seeking to obtain a License to Carry (LTC) can now take the required classroom training online. Online training must be administered by a Texas Department of Public Safety-Approved course provider; the students will also be required to attend an in-person range instruction session to demonstrate shooting proficiency.
House Bill 3784, which went into effect on September 1, 2017, allows the Department of Public Safety to certify online course providers, only if the course providers meet eligibility requirements. The approved online course providers can offer the classroom instruction portion of the handgun proficiency requirement and administer the written exam.
Concealedcarry-ed.com is one of the first online course providers to successfully meet eligibility requirements set forth by House Bill 3784 and gain approval from the Department of Public Safety. With this approval, LTC applicants now have the option of a blended education model including both online and in-person training. After successfully passing the online course, students are required to attend 1 to 2 hours of range instruction class and demonstrate handgun proficiency with a Texas Qualified LTC Instructor.
Concealedcarry-ed.com provides students of all experience levels with comprehensive education for a License to Carry utilizing illustrations, animations, and videos to teach students how to carry handguns safely and legally. Students will be able to learn key information about maintaining their handguns, developing good marksmanship, and preparing themselves for self-defense situations.
Students can complete the interactive course at their own pace, starting and stopping at their convenience. The Concealedcarry-ed.com course is a fully mobile-friendly course from start to finish. This safety course is designed to work on a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.
